Capital of the principality of Andorra
Andorra la Vella is the only city and capital of the principality of Andorra. Although it is not a big place, there are plenty of high-quality hotels and most are within easy walking distance of the town centre.
It is a busy shopping centre, selling duty-free luxury goods imported from Europe and Asia to French and Spanish shoppers and to tourists. Probably the most interesting place to visit here is Caldea spa. Located in the mountains, the interior is laid out in a "Hanging Gardens of Babylon" style, and offers inside and outside lagoons, saunas, jacuzzis, a grapefruit pool, an Aztecian pool, Indo-Roman baths, cascades, bubble beds, warm marble slates to name but a few.
