Vacation rentals and homes, commercial property and residential sales in Banyalbufar
Set among steep hills surrounded by agricultural olive groves
Banyalbufar is located on the NW coast of Mallorca, 16 miles from Palma by narrow road and approximately 21 miles from the airport.
The name of this village in Arabic means ‘vineyard by the sea’ and it has been known since Moorish times for its fertile soil. A small, charming, attractive village beside the sea measuring about ˝ ml long, comprises a main street and a group of old 3-storey houses built of local stone that cling to the steep slope.
Offering breathtaking views of the sea, the village of Banyalbufar was once famous for wine, supplied to the crown of Aragon, but these days, the main crop of the village is tomatoes. West of the village, the Torre de Ses Animes is a 16th century watchtower offering marvellous views along the coast.
