Vacation rentals and homes, commercial property and residential sales in Palma Nova
One of Mallorca's earliest holiday resorts
The hugely popular resort of Palma Nova and its nearest neighbour Magaluf, are the largest resort developments of the municipal district of Calvia, and is situated on the south west coast of the island, approximately 15km or 10 miles west of Palma, and the Son Sant Joan International airport.
'New Palma' is often unfairly linked with its more raucous neighbour Magaluf but Palma Nova is much quieter and better suited to families with young children. In recent years the city council has spent a lot of money to make the place more attractive, and they have succeeded quite well . The beaches, divided by headland, shelve gently into the sea around a broad sandy bay backed by a promenade with restaurants and bars.
Palma Nova has three sandy beaches and a promenade that stretches on to Magaluf. The beach near the Club Nautico is called "Es Carregador". The middle beach is called "Playa de Palmanova" and the beach closest to Magaluf is called "Son Maties (Matias)".
When you are on the beaches, you should beware of the men who will try to sell you their fruit for high prices, and the gypsy ladies selling red flowers or fake jewellery. The quality of the products sold may not be what you think!
