Vacation rentals and homes, commercial property and residential sales in Milford Haven
The largest town in the County of Pembrokeshire
Milford Haven is situated near the mouth of the River Cleddau, at the extreme end of south west Wales.
Natural beauty and industrial activity combine in a splendid 20 mile harbour, hailed by Nelson as best in the world. Surrounded by 70 miles of sheltering coastline, and sailed by giant oil-tankers. Refinery lights at night make for a dramactic skyline.
One of the most impressive sights in this part of Wales is the view from the 1970s Cleddau Bridge (toll-bridge) which curves out of Pembroke Dock to neighbouring Neylan. Accessible also by pedestrians, the magical views over the headlands are not to be missed, and are at their best at sunset on a summer’s evening. The perfect place for a proposal!
Founded in the late eighteenth century by a group of American settlers, Milford Haven is the largest town in the County of Pembrokeshire.
The town has seen hard times of late with little investment – most of the development has been invested in a very large Marina which now occupies a part of the dock basin.
Hamilton Terrace skirts around the waterside to the revamped docks and here there are many attractions such as a bowling alley, Dockside Gallery and a town museum which is well worth a visit.
Milford Haven is easily accessed – the train station is located next to the docks and public transport to the centre of town is plentiful.
