Competitions take place on many weekends, and there are boards to rent. The park is famous for its fishing too, and the inlet's mouth is invariably very crowded with fishing boats.
The two jetties jutting out into the Atlantic Ocean on either side are also crammed with anglers, while more lines dangle in the limpid waters of Indian River.
At the southern end of teh park, the McLarty Treasure Museum takes an in-depth look at the history surrounding the loss of a Spanish Plate Fleet in 1725.

'The World's Greatest Treasure Hunter', Mel Fisher died in 1998, but his treasure-hunting 'Golden Crew' team of divers lives on.
The museum in downtown Sebastian contains treasures from different wrecks, including the 1715 fleet, and goodies from teh Atocha. There are dazzling jewels, a gold bar (with the challenge to lift it) as well as more everyday items.
