Wakulla Springs State Park pumps 700,000gal (2.6 million liters) or water a minute into a large pool. Here, visitors can swim or snorkel in its clear waters or ride in a glass-bottomed boat. Boat trips on the Wakulla River are the best way to see alligators and wading birds. The elegant Wakulla Springs Lodge was built in the 1930s.

Tallahasse grew dramatically during the plantation era, and the elegant town houses built in the 1800s can still be seen around Park Avenue and Calhoun Street. The Chamber of Commerce, on Duval Street, is housed in the city's oldest building , a 1830 Classical-Revival mansion, known as "the Columns."
The Old Capitol Building in downtown Tallahasse has been beautifully restored to its 1902 state, with a pristine white dome and striped awningd. Once inside, guests can visit the Supreme Court chamber and the Senate. The high-rise New Capitl Building behind it offers a fabulous view of the city. the Museum of Florida History situated on Bronough Street, covers about 12,000 years of the region's history.

The gardens were originally laid out around Kilearn, the 1930s winter home of new york financier Alfred B.Maclay. More than 200 varieties of plants are featured in the landscaped gardens that surround the shores of Lake Hall. They remain eye-catching even in winter, even in winter, when the magnificent camellias and azaleas are in full bloom (from Jan to April). Visitors can also swim, fish, go boating, or enjoy a stroll along the woodland Big Pine Nature Trail.
