In the heart of the Brittany countryside and surrounded by forests, Les Vallées is a 100 year old traditional Breton stone and slate farmhouse that has been tastefully renovated into a comfortable and relaxing Gite that will be exclusively yours for your holiday break. We're near to medieval towns and villages like Josselin and Pontivy and only a short drive to both the North and South Brittany coasts. There's lots of toys, games and a splash pool for the children and a large patio and BBQ to relax outside on.
Sleeps: 6 - Bedrooms: 3 - Bathrooms: 2
The Gite has retained many of its original farmhouse features such as massive oak beams, carved fireplaces and traditional tiled floors whilst we've added modern comforts such as central heating, satellite TV, double glazing, a dishwasher and power shower.
Downstairs the main L-shaped building consists of a large Lounge with working fireplace, a fully-fitted Kitchen and a toilet/shower room; whilst upstairs are two double bedrooms and a twin bedroom, a separate toilet and the bathroom.
Outside, the Gite is situated in a roughly half acre enclosed Garden, surrounded by fields and woods. For the children, there's a large climbing frame and swings, a 3.5m outdoor splash pool, a small trampoline and a selection of toys and bikes.
Within walking distance is the village bar/restaurant and only 2 miles away is the town of La Chéze with its patisserie, charcuterie, supermarket, restaurants, banks, post office and cafe.
Slightly further afield are the market towns of Loudeac (8 miles), Napoleonic Pontivy (14m) and medieval Josselin (12m) with its magnificent Chateau, historic old town and Nantes/Brest canal.
Getting to the Gite is easy with ferries from Portsmouth, Poole and Plymouth to St Malo (1 ½ hours drive), Roscoff (2 hours), Caen (3 hours), Cherbourg (4 hours) and Le Havre (4 hours). If you prefer the quicker Dover/Calais crossing or Eurotunnel, it's only 6 hours drive (and can cost a fantastic £25 each way with SpeedFerries); or you can fly from 99p with Ryanair or FlyBe from London Luton, Stansted, Nottingham, Birmingham, Exeter or Southampton.
