Coxswains Cottage is just yards from the beach in the village of Thorpeness near Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. This self- catering holiday cottage sleeps four and is furnished to a high standard throughout.

Coxswains Cottage is a self catering cottage in the village of Thorpeness near Aldeburgh on the Suffolk Heritage Coast. The village was created in the early 1900s as a resort for wealthy Edwardians by local landowner Glencairn Syuart Ogilvie. The Golf Course, Tennis Courts, Country Club, VIllage Inn and 65 acre Meare (shallow boating lake) he created are still much enjoyed by visitors today.
The cottage is close to the beach and sleeps up to four people. With 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms the property works well for couples or a family.
Nearby attractions include Aldeburgh, Snape, Orford, Minsmere, Dunwich, Walberswick and Southwold.

To the rear of the cottage is a private rear courtyard with table and chairs and bench. There is access across the rear of the next door cottage.
The south-facing Front Garden has 2 benches and small side table.
Parking is usually available outside the cottage or close by.
The kitchen has hand made units with granite worktops and is well equipped. There is a free standing gas cooker, dishwasher, fridge with 3* freezer compartment, microwave and plenty of utensils. The washing machine and tumble dryer are located in bathroom 2
Located in the kitchen, the oak dining table seats 4 and can be extended to seat 6 if required.
The sitting room has 2 sofas, easy chair, flat screen TV, DVD player, selection of DVDs, small table, books, lamps.
Bedroom 1 has king sized bedframe with Vi-Spring mattress, wardrobe, bedside tables, lamps, mirror, and hairdrier. The room is south facing.
Bedroom 2 has twin Vi-Spring divan beds, wardrobe, bedside table, lamps, easy chair, mirror, hairdrier. The room is south facing.
The cottage is cleaned in between stays. A high standard is maintained by the owners.
Changeover day is a Friday

Short breaks run from Friday to Monday
Linen and towels are included although you will need to bring your own beach towels.
Sorry no pets allowed
There are a selction of board games. Bikes can be hired from the Meare Cafe across the road or electric bikes can be hired from the Golf Club or Dolphin Inn in the village. Golf is available at the Thorpeness Golf Club (handicap required) Tennis is available at the Country Club (temporary memberships available)
The Heritage Coast is an Area of Outstanding Naural Beauty. There are many towns and village nearby worth visiting, these include; Aldeburgh, Snape, Orford, Walberswick, Dunwich, Woodbridge, Southwold and Framlingham
The RSPB bird reserve at Minsmere is close by as is the National Trust reserve of Dunwich Heath.
Aldeburgh has a good range of independant shops and many good restaurants and cafes.

A 25% deposit is required with the booking, please note this is non-refundable unless the property can be re-let.
Balance required 6 weeks before your stay.
Bathroom 1 has bath with power shower over, WC, basin, bathroom cupboard, shaver point/light. The heating controls and boiler are in the airing cupboard.
Bathroom 2 is as bathroom 1 but has a washing machine and tumble drier in the former airing cupboard.
