Welcome to Negreval, a charming retreat in the heart of gastronomic France.

This beautiful 200 year old farmhouse has been in our family for 20 years and is the ideal holiday villa. Lovingly restored and modernized it still retains its original charm with cool stone flagged floors and oak beams. Its idyllic hilltop location affords staggering, panoramic views of the surrounding farmland. The abundance of local markets and produce make this the perfect location for a self-catering holiday. With the relaxed feel of a country cottage this character gite provides a wonderful opportunity for al fresco living.

Wander down to the village in the morning to buy croissants from the boulangerie; pick some cherries, apples or figs from the garden; select the finest produce from one of the many local markets, swim in the gorgeous lake- just a 5 minute drive away- and then relax on the terrace with a glass of wine as you watch the sun set behind the ancient oak tree. In other words unwind and enjoy the unique atmosphere that is Negreval.

Winter Breaks are popular too with a large fireplace in the living room and full central heating throughout the house. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or comments; we would welcome any feedback about this site and about the house.

GARDEN:

Garden Room –Comfortably furnished with two three-seater sofas this bright living space adjoins the kitchen and has French windows opening on to the terrace. The best place to watch the sunset and listen to the frogs in the little pond.

Set on 5 acres of sloping land at the edge of a hill these gardens are a children’s paradise. Steps lead up to a climbing tree, the oak tree has a swing and there is a trapeze and a paddling pool which you are welcome to fill and use for the duration of your stay. All children’s play areas used at your own risk, please don’t sue us if someone falls off the swing or out of the tree…

There is an orchard with apple, peach, nectarine, fig and cherry trees. Something is sure to be ripe during your visit so please make good use of everything that you find.

There is a small frog pond in the garden, just by the garden room. Please use the safety cover if you have small children, they do love to try and catch the frogs.

There are a number of sun-loungers and reclining chairs for your use, feel free to move them around the garden as you wish.

LOCAL AMENITIES/ATTRACTIONS:

There are many options for cooling off when the weather is hot; these are just a few.

The lake at Mollieres (a 5 minute drive) which is open to the public and has a good children’s play area, pedal boats, ice-cream kiosk etc. (see photo on home page). It is a bit like spending the day at the beach but not as busy.
La Francaise (a 10 minute drive) has a full size public swimming pool with a large children’s pool.

The river, gorgeous clean running water and shady grassy picnic spots make this a favourite for us.
