The Cleveland Way is 50 yards from the door, a short walk down a winding path takes you to the beach where you can walk 8 miles on golden sands. There are dramatic cliffs and rockpools to explore. A pub serving food is at the foot of the cliff. The unspoilt Victorian town Saltburn-by-the-sea is 1.5 miles away. The North York Moors, including Heartbeat Country and the picturesque fishing villages of staithes, Runswick Bay and Whitby are a short drive away.

From Amroth you can take coastal hiking paths in either direction, along the 186 mile Pembrokeshire National Park Coastal Trail heading in the direction of Saundersfoot and Tenby, or the Carmarthen Bay Coastal Trail from the other end of Amroth heading into Carmarthenshire. Tenby is 9 miles away, and Saundersfoot 4. Oakwood, the largest theme park in Wales, is also within easy reach as is Folly Farm, another popular family attraction.
